Gadgets for the Tech-Friendly Mom

Some moms out there are incredibly low-tech (and I probably fall into that category), but for many modern moms life is more fun and much simpler thanks to the use of available technology.

If you fall into that category—or even if you don’t—we put together a list of coolest gadgets that most moms are going to love.

  1. The Levana Baby Monitor: This baby monitor has all of the great bells and whistles you would expect but it also has a more unexpected feature—you can take pictures of your baby while he or she sleeps, even if you don’t have your phone or camera handy. Once you take those adorable sleeping photos you can upload them to your computer. This state-of-the-art monitor also features a quad screen so you can get views of your baby from multiple angles and it plays soothing music.
  2. The Holi Sleep Companion: It’s hard to turn our brains off after a long day, and sleep can seem like a luxury when you’re a mom so this little gadget is great. The Sleep Companion features an exclusive light bulb that synchronizes with your body’s natural rhythms. It generates the perfect light for your body’s biology at that moment using a smartphone app. The app is designed to analyze your sleep patterns and it also gives you personalized advice to help you get a better night’s sleep. You can also skip the annoying alarm clocks and instead enjoy a gentle morning wake up with a dawn simulator that works with our body’s inherent circadian rhythms.
  3. Everpurse Mini: I can rarely remember to charge my phone and if you’re like me the Everpurse is an ingenious invention—it’s a purse that charges your phone even when you’re on the go. It’s actually a stylish little clutch and you tuck your phone into the charging pocket so it’s juicing up whether you’re at work, the playground or on date night. Right now the purse comes in sapphire, black and nude and it’s a great little accessory combining style and functionality.
  4. This isn’t necessarily “techy” but it’s still a great invention for moms—the Beaba Babycook. It’s been around for about 20 years, but the newest versions of this tool are just fantastic and they also look stylish. This 4-in-1 baby food maker allows you to steam, blend, defrost and reheat all in one centralized cooker so you don’t have to worry about dirtying up tons of dishes when you’re making baby food. The Babycook is also designed to be able to make up to 18 servings of baby food at one time and it features a patented steamer that preserves more of the food’s vitamins and minerals.
  5. The Baby Gigl Smart Bottle is one of the newest and possibly coolest techy gadgets on our list. This “smart” bottle is designed to help your baby avoid drinking air, to prevent colic and to watch out for lumps that can occur with formula feeding. It pairs with a mobile app that provides you with everything you need to know about how much your baby drank and for how long. It’s a really cool idea for both breastfeeding and formula-feeding moms so you can keep an eye on what your baby is eating to make sure he or she is thriving.
