The Biggest Technology Annoyances of Today

Technology is a wonderful thing and all of the changes that have taken place over the last twenty years or so have certainly worked to make your life much easier in many ways. Surely no one could have ever imagined a time where everyone would be walking around carrying a phone or that you could chat with a person around the world instantly via a computer. With so many changes occurring all of the time, it is also no wonder that there are many things about technology that can still get under your skin. While the world has become one of immediate gratification and notice thanks to technology, there are still some issues with it that people find irksome and annoying. Here are a few of the biggest annoyances regarding technology today.

  • The Never-Ending Notifications – It may seem like from the moment you wake up in the morning until the time you go to bed at night (and even while you are sleeping, most likely), that your life has become filled and regimented by the notifications that your smartphone brings you all of the time. Whether it is to let you know about an email, text message or if it is your move in that word game you are playing, notifications are being sent constantly for every little reason. You can change all of this by filtering your notifications regarding email and social media to lighten the load, but it can become quite a nuisance for you as every app you have today wants to notify you of everything as a way of advertising.
  • Bring Me a Battery! – Ask anyone that is using any type of device and their biggest complaint about it will be that the battery life is too short. With all of the improvements going on each day in devices, people always wonder why changes have not been made to make battery life better and more efficient. Applications on devices are becoming larger and use more memory all of the time, draining your battery faster. Until society reaches the point where there is more frequent use of wireless charging stations everywhere better battery life would be nice.
  • Passwords – All you every hear about is how your passwords need to be complicated and changed often to guard your information, but the technology does exist where you should not have to type in a long string of letters, numbers and symbols each time you want to log in to your phone or computer. Facial recognition and fingerprint passwords are becoming more of the norm in the world today but technology has been very slow to incorporate them in devices for your own personal use. Better integration of this is needed to make passwords a thing of the past.

Everyone has their own little quirks and annoyances when it comes to technology. It would be great if there could be changes in things like those listed and others (like why are printers still so clunky and difficult to use?) but it seems that society has become a bit spoiled by all of the rapid changes that take place in technology. People have come to have high expectations for technology regularly and want changes fast. For every great idea that you find in technology, there is likely to be someone somewhere that finds an annoyance about it.
