Cleaning Up with High-Tech Vacuums Today

There are all kinds of household chores that people never really look forward to – doing laundry, cleaning the bathroom, washing the dishes and even vacuuming your home. Vacuuming seems like one of those thankless chores people try to avoid unless they know company is coming over. The idea of lugging around a heavy machine to pick up the dirt from the floors is time consuming and tedious for some, but technology has come a long way and made improvements in this area in the last twenty years. Today, there are a number of great ways you can clean up easily with the use of high tech and more efficient vacuums.

The Vacuums of the Past

For the longest time it seemed like there were no real changes or improvements on the vacuum system that was available to most people in their homes. Vacuums were these heavy devices that required regular or even constant emptying of bags that were temperamental and filled your lungs with dirt and dust even with just the slightest touch. Your vacuum also required pretty regular maintenance, with belts needing to be changed as they wore out over time, costing you extra money for replacements or even repairs when the belts failed and the motor overheated. It is only in the last twenty years or so that there has been any significant improvements made in the systems used to make them lighter, easier to handle and better and more efficient to use.

The High Tech Vacuums of Today

Today the vacuums on the market do not even seem like something that was used in the past. Many models available today have long done away with the idea of using a bag to collect dirt and dust and have gone to canisters that do not need to be replaced and easily removed and re-attached. Others use better technology to allow for freer and easier movement. Many today are also equipped with special filters to help remove allergens from floors more efficiently. Today, technology has improved so much that there are a number of robotic vacuums available that you can simply put on the floor and let them vacuum away without you getting involved. Some today even allow you to turn them on via a smartphone application so you can do it when you are not at home. Dyson, one of the biggest innovators in the industry, has a new model today where there are no parts that ever require any replacement or maintenance; all you need to do is empty the canister after vacuuming.

Vacuums continue to get more and more efficient as time goes on and technology improves. The biggest issue with all of this improving technology is that the cost of vacuums of this nature has continued to climb, with top models costing $600 or more if you want one that is truly cutting edge in technology. As some of these characteristics become more standard on vacuums the price of the machines will come down over time, allowing more people to take advantage of being able to clean up their homes faster and better than before.
